From Boulder, Colorado comes free improv duo Electro Manifesto. Its members are guitar innovator Michael O’Neill and percussion iconoclast Gordon Kennedy. Michael has extensive credits as part of the Boulder-Denver experimental music community. His fluid style, sharp ear and subtle use of effects have made him a flexible collaborator to many. Gordon is an ideal counterpoint, employing drums, an array of hand percussion, found objects and unconventional use of electronics to create a well of sonic surprises. Together, Michael and Gordon forge a sound as expansive and diverse as the Front Range environment they live in.

"Memory Train" was recorded in sessions for their debut album, Invisible Logic, though only available here. Says Michael:

"We have lots of junk! In order of appearance- a Godin Jazz SA guitar goes through an old Korg Kaoss pad, which I manipulate the touch pad with my big toe as I play. Next comes a Rat distortion pedal and a Line 6 looper. A Roland sampler is putting out sounds of a submarine getting compressed by pressure, as well as train sounds. All of that is further modified by two Red Panda effects- the Tensor, and the Particle. Gordon is using a no-input mixing board to generate tones, which he runs through a Red Panda Particle. Rubber mallets provide the squeaky friction. He is also using a violin bow and a cardboard paper towel tube on the cymbals."
