about

Bill Boethius is called "the Dali of guitar noise." Based in London, he's incredibly prolific with over 50 albums to his name, most under the banner "Bill Boethius and Dali's Car." Much of his work is experimental , intersecting with psychedelic- and space and post-rock. His skills span those genres as well as free jazz and even an unorthodox blues album. With changing collaborators, he builds memorable audio sculptures that bounce around sonic space like overcharged electrons.

"Secret Science" is the title track of one of his recent albums, a pensive, abstract piece that incorporates acoustic and electric guitars.

Says Bill:

"I used three guitars on the track Secret Science. First, a nylon string acoustic, secondly a Stratocaster copy electric guitar, and lastly a Fender Telecaster, the latter being played through a Kaoss Pad synthesiser. Each guitar was recorded as a one-off free improvisation, layered one on the other."
